Toys from the Past

This term's theme in Year 1 is Toys from the Past. Kingfishers have been sorting modern toys and toys from the past and finding out about what their parents and other adults played with when they were children. We have also been thinking about the difference between what we play with now and what we played with as babies.

Here are some photos of Kingfishers looking at different types of toys and sorting them. There are also some photos of show and tell, when children have bought in toys they or their parents used to play with. Thank you to both children and parents for being so involved and sending toys in for us to look at and discuss We have really enjoyed it!

Welcome to Kingfishers' class 2016 - 17

A warm welcome to Year 1 for the new Kingfishers!

The staff working in Kingfishers this year will be:

Teaching Assistants: Miss Mahoney and Mr Traum

Our first week back will be a time for children to settle into their new routines and for us to get to know them. Parents are invited to come in to settle their children from 8.40-8.50am when the bell will ring. If you have any concerns, questions or anything to share with us, please make the most of this morning settling time to speak to an adult working in the classroom.

We are looking forward to a new year of fun, learning and adventures!
