Our first week back has been full of New Year activity, writing about our holiday news, sharing our hopes and dreams for 2017 and getting back into learning routines.

On Wednesday we had our Science Launch Day, which will be our focus for theme learning this term. Year 1 learnt that some scientists study the weather. We joined classes to experience 3 different activities:

1. Making a weather vane and learning about compass directions and the wind.


2. We made a weather clock to show what the weather is each day and talked about all different kinds of weather and how some scientists work hard to bring us the weather forecast.


3. We made cloud pictures and learnt the names of different clouds: Cumulus, Cirrus and fog.
